Catching up.......

Ok, eveyrone breathe! I'm updating my blog.
We have been really busy this last month. Doing all sorts of stuff. So I thought I'd post a bit about how our place is coming. Dellas rebuilt my front steps - good by rickity wood steps! And I have hand rails. Really nice. We have more fence up and hope to get the rest finished soon. But Dellas refused to dig holes in 100+ heat so he got the summer off.
So here's how it's looking so far:

The flowers below are against the left side of the fence, right next to the neighbor's drive. The big on on the left we bought a year ago and it has been in a pot until this spring. When I planted it, it got really spindly, leaves fell off, it only got a few blossoms at a time and the leaves started turning yellow! And I was watering it every day since it was so hot! I finally asked a guy at a garden center and he said it was either getting too much or not enough water. He suspected too much, so told me to not water it for awhile and see what happens. So, I went out, told the sweet little plant it was going to get very very thirsty because I was no longer giving it a drink. See what happened? It went absolutely crazy beautiful! So, I am not giving it any more water! It can get what it gets by accident (from the flowers on the other side of the fence or from God). The little one on the right is one I bought with money my mom sent so I could get pretty flowers. It has peach-colored blooms. But it was getting water from the other flowers and quit blooming last week. So I am being mean to it now!

I'm hoping that by being mean to the little one, it will floursh like this:

Pretty, aren't they? And with little-to-no water! Go figure.

Liam is growing almost as much as my flowers!

This was taken on August 8th - he was 4 days old (by hours). Skinny little thing!

This was on August 23 - getting bigger! I don't have a more recent one of him on my camera. This was before he got a hair cut. Yep, Katie and Terry cut his hair!

Will get one taken, I'm sure! But I will tell you, he's no longer a skinny little thing!

Doing some stuff on the inside too. I have this counter between my livingroom and kitchen. Couldn't stand the bareness of it. Or the fact that you could see if there were dishes in my sink! (Ok, I admit it, the latter was bothering me the most!) So, Heidi gave me these little baskets and I spraypainted them this pretty brown and found this pretty flowers! And VOILA! Prettyness!~ I think I want the walls in the livingroom/dining room the redish color.

What do you think?

So, Kimi has a turtle tank on her back patio with two red-eared sliders and some gold fish. It needed to be cleaned so Collin was helping. He was so cute and loved that he got to get in the tank! However, it was slimmy on the bottom and - well, you guessed it - he ended up all wet! I would say it was on purpose but I saw him fall and he was very startled! See how wet he is? Good thing he was in his swim trunks!

One last shot: This is a shot Kimi took of a sunset in Sedona last week. So beautiful, I had to share. (Hope that's ok Kimi! I didn't see a copyright on it and since it was on MY camera......)

So Enjoy! And I'll be back!

WOW- great Job Dell! Your place is becoming a HOME! I like the new steps and railing. Nice touch- and the fence! Yea! You'll be able to put the doggy's outside- maybe get a doggy door now?? And those bushes you planted? I see those all over the place along the freeways in Phoenix. They are GORGEOUS! Glad to see them close up in your picture!

I like the flower idea for giving eyes a different place to focus other then the dishes in your sink! And YES! That reddish color would look fantastic on your walls...if you did 'one' wall...otherwise you might be over-whelmed...(ask Jen!) GLAD to see new stuff Sis!! Now...keep it up....I come here almost every single day ....so you have disappointed me many times....... (guilt trip!!)
